Michael Bublé is on the cusp of winning his third season of The Voice in a row. The crooner announced that he’s making an unexpected career change, sparking confusion and fury with his confession. Keep reading for all the details.

Michael Bublé Plans Country Album

Michael Bublé has ruled the Adult Contemporary charts for years. Now he’s ready to take on a new musical challenge: country music. He revealed on Kylie Kelce’s podcast earlier this month that he’s working on a country album. He told the wife of NFL player Jason Kelce that he’s been in Nashville, Tennessee, working with producer Dann Huff on the album.

The album, which The Voice coach described as “a love letter to country music,” isn’t finished just yet. While the move may take fans by surprise, he said it’s been in the works for years.

“My last record had to do it with Willie Nelson. Record before was Dolly Parton. You know, I was covering everything from Kris Kristofferson to Hank Williams,” he said about honoring his love of country music in his previous albums.

The Voice Coach Makes Controversial Confession

Michael Bublé’s transition to country music shocked fans, but he made an even more controversial confession on the podcast. The singer told Taylor Swift’s soon-to-be sister-in-law that he thinks Christmas music should start hitting the radio months before the holiday. In June, to be exact. He joked that it would help his “streaming revenue.”

The singer released a Christmas album in 2011 that is still relevant today. Michael Bublé released new additions of Christmas with new songs over the years. The album features covers of Christmas classics, including Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Causes Division Among Fans

Michael Bublé joined The Voice as a coach in Season 26. He coached the winning team in that season and the following season. He returned for Season 28 with the hope of winning three seasons in a row. But he has fierce competition from Team Reba, Team Snoop, and Team Niall. The season finale airs on Monday, December 15, and Tuesday, December 16.

Fans of the show are divided not only over who should win, but also over Michael Bublé’s controversial Christmas confession. Many fans think that Christmas music is just fine in November and December, but shouldn’t be played earlier.

One fan wrote, “I love you but, “NO”. You are the ‘only’ Christmas CD I listen to at this time of year other than 1 spin of Bing.” Another added, “No Michael! I’m good with the beginning of November.”

A third fan offered a compromise. “June no, but maybe July, there is a short holiday called Christmas In July so July could work”

But the idea of playing Christmas music year-round wasn’t as unpopular as you’d think. Some were all for it.

“Ngl my kids *have* been listening to Christmas music since June. Send help!”
“We can and we do because it makes me feel happy when the world is a dumpster fire”
“@michaelbuble starts defrosting in June! That’s why he’s saying we should start listening to Christmas music then”

Christmas is almost over, so fans will be playing Michael Bublé’s new country album instead pretty soon. Tell us in the comments when radio stations should start playing Christmas music.
