Masked Singer Viewers Make Disturbing Accusations Against Show

Longtime fans were hoping that Nicole Scherzinger would return for Season 14, but that seems unlikely to happen anytime soon. The reality show usually airs two seasons a year, but cut back to one season in 2025 amid dwindling ratings.

Listening to the judges guess which celebrity under the mask is half the fun of watching The Masked Singer. But sometimes, the clue packages are just too easy. For example, many fans have already guessed the identity of the Croissants, which will be revealed on Wednesday’s show. But the clue package for another Season 14 masked singer sent shockwaves through the audience.

Fans of the show took to social media to call out the disturbing use of AI in the clues package for the Season 14 masks. While viewers thought the AI was obvious in several packages, they were particularly unsettled by the Scarab clues package.

Fans Disappointed, Threaten Boycott

The Masked Singer fans were already annoyed going into Season 14. In a strange twist, the Fox reality show revealed the identity of one contestant early on. Viewers at home know that Disney actress Kylie Cantrall is under the Cat Witch mask, but the judges in the Los Angeles, California, studio don’t know.

So, when viewers noticed that many of the clue packages seemed to use AI instead of real props, they were disappointed, to say the least. One fan took to Reddit to start a discussion thread titled “AI Clue Packages Suck!”

“For a show that has spent 13 seasons being all about over the top spectacle and production this AI stuff sucks very much,” they wrote in the post.

AI is controversial for several reasons. First, it reportedly uses a massive amount of water to cool the massive data centers that power AI. Secondly, Artificial Intelligence uses existing work from authors, artists, etc, without their permission.

Other Masked Singers agreed that Fox was wrong to use AI in the clues packages for Season 14. Some fans even called for a boycott or petition to get the network to drop the AI packages.

“This is the first time in this show I’ve actually felt sickened watching it.”
