But Alan’s just revealed that the first season of the show featuring “real people” is set to begin filming in a matter of months – and it’s still open to applications.

Speaking on TODAY about the show, Alan let the news slip.

“It’s been celebrities so far, but word is that soon just regular folks, civilians, will be able to come,” said the interviewer.

Alan didn’t deny the rumours at all, replying: “Real people can come.

“Yeah, so the next one we shoot in May is going to be on NBC, and it’s with real people.

“So it’s been a huge, it’s been nuts actually. It’s been a flood of people [applying].

“But it’s still open. You can still apply.”

This sent fans of the program into a frenzy on Reddit, both through excitement to apply and in laughter over being called “real people”.

“Real people lmao,” said one user, amused.

“I am applying and I really want to get on,” said another. “I have so many outfit ideas!”

A third added: “I wanna see them get 20 people from twitter [X] and let em scrap it out.”

Though others felt the main part of the show’s appeal was the celebs, believing it won’t be as fun to watch with ordinary folk.

As one user expressed: “The celebrity is part of the appeal for me. Cautiously optimistic.”

Season four of the Traitors celebrity edition premiered on January 9 but lucky viewers got a sneak preview into what was yet to come in an exclusive castle tour video.

“Welcome to my castle,” Alan said to kick off the tour. “There are many ways in, but just two ways out — banishment or murder.

“There will be treachery, double crossing, and backstabbing… and that’s just in the breakfast room.”

Alan then shows off the show’s key locations, including the infamous roundtable.

This year’s line up is filled with star-studded names, from reality stars to TV beauties.
