Byron Scott, a three-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers during their legendary Showtime era, is facing some serious accusations.
The historic member of the legendary ‘Show Time’ Lakers and former NBA head coach has been accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old schoolgirl in a school janitor’s closet.
The assault, which has been exclusively revealed by the Daily Mail, allegedly took place almost 40 years ago, in the summer of 1987, at an exclusive school (Campbell Hall School) in Los Angeles, California.
The NBA Coach of the Year in 2008 has been accused of sexual battery, sexual assault, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress by Hayley Dylan, who was a 15-year-old schoolgirl at the time.
She could’ve remained anonymous, but she chose to reveal her identity.
What makes this story even crazier is that Byron Scott has admitted sexual contact with the girl but denies knowledge of the age of the minor, as he thought she was 18.
In the summer of 1987, Scott was filming an instructional basketball video at the school for an event with the Lakers team. Dylan, a 15-year-old student taking a summer math class, was invited to stay behind after other students and parents were asked to leave the gym.
According to the lawsuit, Scott isolated Dylan by having lunch with her and then touring the school. Things allegedly escalated when he pulled her into a janitor’s closet, locked the door, and forced himself on her despite her protests.
“Scott pushed Hayley to her knees and, against her will, pulled off her top. Scott then pulled down his shorts, exposed his erect penis, and tried to force Hayley to perform oral sex on him,” the complaint states.
After the alleged assault, Byron Scott reportedly gave Dylan Lakers merchandise and discouraged her from speaking about what happened between them.
When she tried to get a ride home, one of his teammates refused, saying, “F**k, no. I’m not putting that girl in my car.”
At the time of the alleged assault, Scott was married to his first wife, Anita Scott. The couple divorced in 2014.

Former LA Lakers star Byron Scott is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 1987 while visiting her private school for a team event.
The allegations, detailed in a lawsuit obtained by the Daily Mail, describe a disturbing encounter in a locked janitor’s closet.
Scott has admitted a sexual encounter happened but made it clear that it was consensual and that he thought the young girl was 18.
His attorneys have since spoken out on his behalf.
Scott’s attorney, Linda Bauermeister, told Daily Mail: ‘Our client is devastated by this complaint, a basketball event that took place in 1987.
‘Our client believed the plaintiff to be over 18 and had no idea she would claim otherwise until 35 years later.
‘He respects girls and women, and the claims have blindsided him and his family.’
