Delonte West Reveals Why He Still Speaks With LeBron James’ Mother After All These Years
West stated important role Gloria James has had in his life.
The NBA world is full of nasty rumors. Some have been confirmed, while some weren’t answered. One of the most absurd ones involved Delonte West and LeBron James’ mother, Gloria, having a secret affair.
The rumor started sometime in the 2010 NBA Playoffs. LeBron James, then with the Cleveland Cavaliers, wasn’t his usual self against the Boston Celtics because he allegedly found out about the affair between West and his mother.
Just as Delonte is starting his journey back to sobriety, he dropped a bombshell: he’s still in contact with Gloria.

West has had a troubled life after his exit from basketball in 2015. He was seen lurking around convenience stores, appearing either intoxicated or under the influence of a substance.
During his playing career, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He later rejected the diagnosis, attributing his odd behavioral moods to the stress that comes with being a professional athlete.
Fast forward to today, as he’s on his journey to get better, Delonte West dropped a weird fact about his life that reignited talk about the rumored affair he had with LeBron’s mother.
“A lot of those guys that I play with, LeBron, he’s my ‘him’, and you know his family…called my mom all the time to make sure I’m okay. Miss James, Miss Gloria, she calls my mom, makes sure she’s still the same. ‘Tell your son I see him. He better get it together. Don’t make me come check on him,” the 43-year-old said via Kick stream.
He painted the situation as a mother-to-son type of love, not in a weird way. It’s important to note that none of LeBron’s other teammates have mentioned having a caring relationship with his mother. We’ll leave it at that.

Along on his journey toward complete sobriety, popular streamer N3on challenged Delonte West to a one-on-one game.
The result was unsurprising. Even though the streamer can play basketball, the former eight-year NBA veteran won the game with ease, 3-0. And he did not even dribble the basketball to score. He just lit them up from behind the arc.
As far as changing his life for the better, this has been the most positive we’ve seen from West. Maybe, just maybe, he needs to show more of his personal development rather than talk about one of his former teammates’ mothers from now on.
