Delonte West dribbling up the court

Delonte West is in trouble with the law again.

Delonte West is in legal hot water yet again, with a report dropping days after sharing he was over a month sober.

According to TMZ Sports, the former NBA star was arrested for robbery in Virginia back in December.

“Law enforcement tells us they received a call from a person who reported getting robbed and assaulted in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway in Belle Haven … and claimed the culprit ran off on them,” TMZ reports.

The outlet added that the culprit did not get far. He was pointed out by the alleged victim from across the street. The assailant in question “turned out to be West.”

TMZ notes that law enforcement in the area has become familiar with West over the years due to his arrests.

They took him into custody without further incident before he posted a $1,000 bond.

West is reportedly scheduled to attend court in March.

Delonte West was arrested in Virginia after being found unconscious back in November. He refused to let the police take him to hospital. They observed that he was very intoxicated and placed him in custody for his own safety.

West was arrested twice in 2024. Police apprehended him in June after trying to serve a warrant on him for violating the conditions of a prior release and resisting arrest.

They also arrested him for trespassing in November of that year.

The 42-year-old played eight seasons in the NBA from 2004 to 2012. He earned a reputation as a tough, versatile guard after being drafted as the 24th overall pick by the Boston Celtics.

West later played for the Seattle Supersonics and was teammates with LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers before returning to Boston.

The former guard closed his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks, playing in other leagues both in the U.S. and abroad thereafter.

He has fallen on hard times since retiring from basketball.
