Sophie Cunningham found a new way to celebrate a win on Friday night. She climbed on top of a bar and led a packed room in song.
The Indiana Fever guard helped her team beat the Dallas Wings 98-87. She then headed straight to Clayton’s Country Bar in downtown Indianapolis.

The caption reads that only Cunningham could go from playing a Fever game to randomly showing up at a bar with fans. She called Cunningham “truly the freaking best.” The clip shows Cunningham throwing her arm up mid-verse while her impromptu duet partner leans into the mic beside her.
This isn’t the first time Cunningham has turned a night out into a viral moment. She previously belted out a Garth Brooks song at the same bar back in May, a performance that racked up more than 530,000 views on X.
Fans have grown used to seeing her personality spill off the court and into these unscripted moments around Indianapolis.
Cunningham has built that reputation all season, both through her play and her presence off it. She recently went viral again after taking an elbow to the face during a defensive possession and still drawing the foul call against her, a moment fans felt the officials got wrong.
She’s also become one of the WNBA’s most talked-about personalities this year after speaking out on ESPN about fairness in women’s sports, a stance she has repeated in multiple interviews since.

The bar performances aren’t entirely random, either. Cunningham told fans on her podcast, “Show Me Something,” that she has “something kind of cool” brewing with a country artist once her WNBA season wraps. She called herself more of a country girl at heart when a fan asked if singing could become a backup plan.
For now, Cunningham remains focused on the Fever’s playoff push. The team has climbed to the top of the Eastern Conference standings this month. But nights like Friday show why fans keep tuning in for more than just the box score.
Cunningham signed a one-year, $665,000 deal with Indiana this offseason after tearing her MCL last August. She’s stayed healthy and vocal ever since, on the court and, apparently, on top of a bar.
