Doris Burke looking don

Doris Burke is taking heat over her SGA take on Sunday.

NBA fans had some heat for Doris Burke after she put Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on blast during a game he had no involvement in.

To her credit, she knew it was coming.

Burke was part of the announce crew for Sunday’s showdown between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets. The game followed the New York Knicks’ win over the San Antonio Spurs, with ESPN airing both highly anticipated matchups.

The former No. 1 team commentator had some shade for SGA after the refs called Anthony Edwards for a push-off foul during the third quarter of the T-Wolves’ win.

Burke suggested that the Oklahoma City Thunder guard constantly gets away with similar fouls.

“I’m gonna be honest, OKC fans are going to start hating on me right now, and feel free. How many times does SGA get away with that exact kind of play and other players in the league…” she said.

Fans Thought Doris Burke Was Reaching

While some fans agreed with Burke, most of them thought this was a massive reach.

“Look how far Ant extends that arm… terrible take. If you think SGA gets away with the same thing, you ought to get your eyes checked,” someone advised.

“Doris is completely wrong on this and im not an OKC fan. Ant fully extends his arm… this is way more egregious than what SGA does,” said another.

“If Doris can’t see the difference between a fend with hand extension and a shoulder/bent elbow extension then she’s not fit to commentate. Something I thought had already been established the first time she was fired,” one comment read.

“SGA does do it a lot. But this right here was so blatant they had to call it. You can’t be stiff arming people and then shoot a fade away lol,” a user wrote.

“denver vs minnesota and we bringing up okc??? yea we run the league,” said a fan.

Burke has previously been accused of having it in for SGA and the Thunder. She’s done herself zero favors with this take.
