The WNBA All-Star weekend is currently in full swing in Indianapolis. To the surprise of many, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton made a public appearance. Many were caught off guard, as Haliburton is still recovering from a devastating Achilles injury.

Even though his mobility was clearly limited, Haliburton made sure his presence at the WNBA All-Star Game turned heads. As the cameras searched the crowd, Haliburton had a hard time spotting where to look. But when he finally appeared on the Jumbotron, his reaction was priceless. He was beaming with excitement and energy despite his physical setback.

The moment was especially refreshing for fans who had rarely seen him in public since his heartbreaking injury during Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Just minutes into the opening quarter, Haliburton suffered a torn Achilles.

His injury abruptly ended his night and the Pacers’ hopes for their first-ever NBA championship. Cameras later captured Haliburton in tears as he was devastated by the cruel twist of fate. Without their floor general, the Pacers eventually fell short and handed the Thunder the 2025 title.

Haliburton’s athleticism continues to draw admiration from basketball minds across the league. On a recent episode of the Mind the Game podcast, Hall of Famer Steve Nash shared his admiration for Haliburton’s unique passing ability.

I would say this about Tyrese. I think he’s one of the greatest simple early-passers I’ve ever seen. Sometimes you have great vision like Tyrese and you want to hold it to make that killer pass. You think, ‘I can get something better,’ and you might hold it for a second. But sometimes he just gets rid of it. And what that does it makes defenses unsettled,” Nash said.

Last season the fans saw Haliburton’s unique style of game, especially in the closing moments of the game. The Indiana star averaged 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game.

She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best
