The WNBA star is fresh off stealing the spotlight at an NBA London game when she dropped even more news this week. Reese has joined the cast of “The Hunting Wives,” Netflix announced on Tuesday.
“Angel Reese joins the cast of The Hunting Wives in the co-starring role of ‘Trainer Barbie,’” Netflix posted on X. “Season 2 is now in production!”
The “Trainer Barbie” character is a clear play on Reese’s real-life nickname. Angel Reese went from Bayou Barbie to Chi-Town Barbie. The name comes from Reese’s glamorous appearance, on-court dominance, and playing in Baton Rouge and Chicago. Now, she is taking her talents to the big screen. The streaming platform also posted Angel Reese in a “Hunting Wives” chair.
For those who are unaware of the drama series, it revolves around a character named Sophie, who has moved from New England to East Texas. Sophie becomes part of a wealthy social circle, only to find out the housewives she’s been spending time with hide deadly secrets, according to Netflix.
Angel Reese Continues To Dominate Off The Court

Every time you look up, Angel Reese is doing something different apart from her basketball career.
Reese led the Tigers to a national championship in 2023. She entered the WNBA Draft in 2024 and did so via a Vogue photo shoot. That would just be the start of things. Reese has made headlines for her looks, both in the tunnel and on the sidelines. Her most viral moment was of her rocking lingerie at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
She has had her signature shoes released and will be a voice actor in GOAT, an upcoming animated movie. Reese has also made an appearance in Idris Elba’s “House of Dynamite.”
Angel Reese’s upcoming appearance in “The Hunting Wives” really is no surprise. The Maryland native verbalized her desire for the opportunity in the summer of 2025.
“Nglllll The Hunting Wives is a CRAZYYYY but good watch,” Reese wrote on X.
