Colin Cowherd Fires Back At Megyn Kelly After Her Caitlin Clark ‘Coward’ Remark [VIDEO]

Cowherd didn’t hold back.

Colin Cowherd shared his thoughts on Sunday. The sports host addressed Megyn Kelly’s criticism of Caitlin Clark. Kelly had labeled the Fever star a “coward.”

Clark faced questions about teammate Sophie Cunningham’s comments on transgender athletes. She said leagues and governing bodies should find solutions.

“Our focus is on basketball,” Clark said. “That’s what we talk about and how we can get wins, and obviously, we didn’t do that tonight. So we need to find an area to improve in that way.”

Kelly responded with one word on X: “Coward.”

Cowherd pushed back hard in a new video. He argued that expecting political statements from athletes misses the point.

“I think, believing that political comments are courageous is a misdiagnosis of expertise,” Cowherd said. “Listen, I don’t ask my general contractor to fix my cavities and I don’t ask my dentist to tile my bathroom.”

He noted athletes face a no-win situation. Players who speak on politics often get crushed. Those who stay quiet face the same treatment.

Cowherd pointed to examples like LeBron James and Aaron Rodgers. Both drew heavy criticism after entering political discussions. Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods stayed out of it and still faced pushback.

Caitlin Clark Draws Strong Defense

Cowherd called Clark’s approach actually brave. She keeps the conversation on her profession. That choice avoids feeding into endless culture war debates.

Clark has become the face of the WNBA. Her presence drives ratings and attendance. Demanding she take sides on every issue adds extra pressure.

The Caitlin Clark media coverage shows constant scrutiny of her every word. Supporters argue she has every right to stay focused on the court. Critics want her to use her platform more forcefully.

Dave Portnoy also defended Clark earlier. He called Kelly’s attack a cheap shot. Portnoy said Clark does not owe anyone a political talking point.

Cowherd’s Sunday video continues that defense. He frames the issue as one of professional boundaries. Athletes excel at sports. Commentators and politicians handle the rest.

The WNBA debates remain heated this season. Clark continues leading the Fever while navigating off-court noise. Her preference for basketball talk shows consistency.
