This might be Ryan Clark’s worst take of the season.
Football fans are teeing off on ESPN’s Ryan Clark after his hot take on Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers safety is no stranger to controversial takes. Remember, Ryan Clark tried blaming Bo Nix for Micah Parsons’ season-ending ACL tear in the Denver Broncos’ Week 15 home game against the Green Bay Packers.
But Clark’s latest take on the reigning NFL MVP, ahead of the Bills’ Wild Card Round game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, is truly something else.
Previewing the game on ESPN’s “NFL Live” program, Ryan Clark stated that if Buffalo loses to Jacksonville? The game falls on Josh Allen, even if James Cook plays poorly, Khalil Shakir drops a pass and the run defense fares poorly.
NFL fans wasted no time clapping back at Clark’s outrageous take on Josh Allen.
“I really hate when former athletes do this,” a fan said.
“According to @Realrclark25 , the following QBs face immense pressure in the playoffs: Allen, Maye, Stafford, Darnold, Nix, Herbert, Rodgers, Lawrence and Purdy. The following face no pressure at all because it’s a team game: Caleb, Love, Young, Hurts, and Stroud,” a user quipped.
“We all know why Ryan hates Josh Allen,” another said.
“What if Josh Allen throws for 400 yards and 5 TD’s and the Bills can’t stop anything and lose 45-42. That’s on Allen? Ridiculous statement to make before a game is played,” asked one fan.
“Come on, man. Dude has never let the Bills down in the playoffs. This game is on McD’s defense. Look up how many points his D gives up every damn time the Bills lose,” a user commented.
“How about if Allen goes 35 for 35, 500 yards, 8 TDs, 0 INTs, but the Bills lose 59-56 on a FG will 0 on the clock?” another asked.
We’ll just have to wait and see how the Bills-Jaguars game plays out. But if Trevor Lawrence and company emerge victorious, we at least know who Ryan Clark will issue the blame to.
Josh Allen Hasn’t Gotten Much Support In The Postseason

It’s unfair to blame Allen for Buffalo’s lack of success in the postseason. He had 329 passing yards, four passing touchdowns and 68 rushing yards in Buffalo’s heartbreaking 42-36 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 Divisional Round, per ESPN.

In Buffalo’s 27-24 loss to the Chiefs in the 2023 Divisional Round? Allen didn’t have a single turnover. His defense didn’t make enough timely stops, and Tyler Bass missed a manageable 44-yard game-tying field goal.
Allen was also excellent in Buffalo’s 2024 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs. He had 237 passing yards, two touchdowns, 39 rushing yards and no turnovers. It was the defense that let him down in a 32-29 loss.
If Allen finally gets support from his defense and special teams in the postseason? Perhaps Buffalo will finally win the first Super Bowl in franchise history.
