It only took a few minutes, and Clay Matthews has already won the NFL Draft.
Matthews saw an opportunity and took it.
At the start of the 2025 NFL draft in Green Bay, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell turned the mic over to Matthews since he is a legend of the team.
Goodell probably regretted that immediately.
Matthews went off script and stated, “I just got off the phone with President Donald Trump. He asked me to pass a message along to all 32 NFL franchises.”
Clay Matthews then pulled out a piece of paper and said, “So let me tell you what it reads here, alright… It says my fellow Americans, the Bears still suck!”
Goodell, the NFL, and ESPN were all surprised by Matthews’ comments, but the crowd full of Packers fans reacted well to the trash-talk.
On the other hand, Bears fans will look for their team to get payback against them during the season.

Legendary pass rusher Clay Matthews is going viral over his trash talk at the podium to kick off proceedings in Green Bay on Thursday night.
Matthews himself was the 26th overall pick in his draft year, and he totaled 83.5 sacks in his Packers career.
Matthews announced his retirement from the NFL in 2022 after a 10-year career with the Green Bay Packers and a final year with the Los Angeles Rams
