VIDEO: George Clooney FLIPS Fox News Ambush Into Viral Mockery
George Clooney took a sarcastic swipe at Fox News’ Jesse Watters after a producer for Watters’ “Primetime” show confronted the movie star outside a theater in New York City.
Clooney, currently starring in his play “Good Night and Good Luck,” was approached by Fox’s Johnny Belisario as he signed autographs for fans.
“Why did you wait so long to speak about Biden’s condition?” Belisario asked, referencing Clooney’s high-profile July 2024 New York Times op-ed calling for Biden to abandon his reelection bid and be replaced with a new Democratic nominee.
Clooney, smiling, responded: “Oh, hi man. Are you recording us now? Say hi to Jesse for me.”
“I’m a huge fan,” he then snarked.
Belisario claimed Watters liked Clooney’s hairstyle and asked whether former President Barack Obama had “used” him to take down Biden.
Clooney teased in response: “Why are you so nervous? You’re shaking. Literally, he’s shaking.”

Watters aired footage of the exchange on Wednesday, with the caption: “Primetime Ambushes The Coup Kick-Starter.”
The segment had been focused on the accusation that the media aided the Biden White House in covering up the then-president’s reported decline in health ahead of his withdrawal from the 2024 race.
Clooney’s op-ed has been widely seen as a pivotal moment in changing Democratic opinion on Biden’s fitness to take on his GOP rival, Donald Trump.
According to the new book “Original Sin” by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson, the actor penned the piece after Biden failed to recognize him at a fundraiser and then performed poorly in the first debate against Donald Trump.
Clooney has denied speculation that Obama orchestrated the op-ed, saying it was “a civic duty” to call for Biden to nix his reelection bid. Ultimately, Biden bowed out of the race, and his vice president, Kamala Harris, stepped in as the nominee but lost the election to Trump.
