Angel Reese Makes It Clear How She Feels About Caitlin Clark [VIDEO]
Reese shares what makes playing alongside Clark so special.
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have one of the biggest rivalries in women’s basketball, going all the way back to the 2023 NCAA championship game. But whenever they team up for USA Basketball, all that stuff goes right out the window.
You could see that clearly on Thursday during Team USA’s quarterfinal win against Hungary at the 2026 FIBA World Cup. Reese had nine points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in just 18 minutes. Clark put up 10 points and dropped nine assists in a little over 20 minutes.
After the game, Reese talked about how well they are clicking on the court. It’s obvious she genuinely loves playing on the same side as her old college rival.
Reese Praises Her Chemistry With Clark

Reese said she and Clark understand each other’s games well after facing each other so many times.
“We’ve played against each other so many times. I’m sure we know each other’s game like the back of each other’s hand,” Reese said. “Just easily dishing it off to her. She dishes off to me. She knows my spots. I kinda got one to her today, maybe two. So it’s fun. We just continue to build chemistry because we know we’re gonna be USA teammates for a while.”

Their connection showed throughout the quarterfinal. Clark found Reese for an easy basket during a pick-and-roll late in the first quarter. She also sent Reese a near full-court pass for another scoring chance.
Reese returned the favor in the third quarter. She stole the ball, pushed it up the court, and found Clark for an easy transition layup.
Clark also spoke highly of Reese before the game. She praised Reese’s competitive nature and work ethic.
“We’re both fiery, fiery competitors, and we want to win,” Clark said. “It’s one of the things I really admire about her game. She’s competitive, and she has a tremendous motor, like she has one of the best motors in the league. She works just as hard as anybody on the court. So, it’s been fun to be able to play with her.”
The two stars have never played together for Team USA at the senior level before this tournament. Their first international run together has already produced plenty of highlights.
Team USA will now shift attention to the semifinals. The Americans will face the winner of the Australia-Spain match on Saturday, Sept. 12.
