Angel Reese Thought She Was “VIP” — But They Were Really Talking About Barack Obama Instead [VIDEO]
She was painfully unaware.
Angel Reese isn’t afraid to laugh at herself.
The Atlanta Dream star has shared an embarrassing travel story from her trip to All-Star Weekend in Chicago that quickly made the rounds online. Reese admitted that she briefly thought she could get off her plane because she was a VIP.
The Dream forward explained that she initially believed she was receiving special treatment before learning that someone much more important was on the tarmac.
“When my plane was landing yesterday, he was right next to my plane too. They were like, ‘VIP. Nobody can get off the plane.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, we VIP too.’ And they said, ‘Obama.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, okay, okay.’”

Fans had plenty to say.
“Maybe this why she misses her shot,” one suggested.
Another wrote, “Holy delusion, Batman.”
“I would be willing to put up my four kids as collateral and bet that she couldn’t name any specific occurrence in either of Obama‘s two terms,” someone shared. “Not a thing.”

She’s no stranger to becoming a trending topic.
Over the past year, Reese has remained one of the WNBA’s most talked-about players, with nearly everything she says or does drawing strong reactions across social media. Just last month, she drew widespread attention after her actions during the “Black National Anthem” sparked debate ahead of a game.
This latest story was much lighter in tone.
Reese laughed off the misunderstanding once she realized former President Barack Obama was the reason nobody was allowed to leave the aircraft.
She also got to meet the ex-POTUS for her trouble.
