He has no shortage of support.

Valeria Perez expressed her support for Karemlo Anthony following his murder conviction. She is his girlfriend. After his trial, Anthony’s girlfriend decided to finally break her silence after he was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the 2025 murder of Austin Metcalf.

Anthony was transferred to the Wallace Pack Unit, near Houston, Texas, on Wednesday morning, June 10, to serve his sentence.

His girlfriend, Valeria Perez, called him a “sweet boy” in a TikTok post where she expressed her support for him.

“Hold your head high, my sweet boy,” Perez wrote as she shared several photos of her and Karmelo Anthony together. “You’re not alone, we’re fighting for you, always. “I love you more than words,” she added.

That wasn’t all she did.

Valeria Perez has sparked massive backlash over a reported support page following the conviction in Austin Metcalf’s stabbing. She started an Instagram “Official Fan Page” called StandWithKarmeloAnthony that promotes “Free Karmelo.”

Meanwhile, Metcalf’s family was reportedly “very happy” with the verdict and Anthony’s sentencing, according to TMZ. The controversial murder conviction sparked an online uproar, with supporters claiming Anthony was railroaded by the legal system in Collin County, Texas. The jury that was over his fate was entirely white.

Anthony is appealing his conviction now while preparing for his time behind bars. He was taken from Collin County Jail and sent to the Pack Unit, near Houston.

Since his conviction, a GiveSendGo campaign was created by Kala Hayes, the mother of Karmelo Anthony. The fundraiser was created after the original one was deleted. It raised roughly $625,000 over the pre-trial period.

Rumors and allegations quickly spread on social media claiming the family misused the donations to purchase luxury items or a new house. None of those claims was ever proven to be true.
