Shilo Sanders may have raised some eyebrows with his Thanksgiving prayer, having made what some may consider an ill-advised request of the man upstairs while asking for a positive outcome for his brother, Shedeur Sanders.

The Sanders brothers joined their mom, Pilar, for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, ahead of Shedeur’s second start for the Cleveland Browns.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski named Shedeur as his starter following his debut performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12, which has made the upcoming clash against the San Francisco 49ers one of the most anticipated on Sunday’s slate.

His brother said a prayer before they dug into their Thanksgiving meal this week, asking for inflated statistics, which prompted the quarterback to interrupt him, saying he was only concerned about winning.

The former Colorado safety is facing a lawsuit for unpaid bills and isn’t getting an NFL salary at the moment, having been released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in preseason, which also means he’s free to bet on games.

He prayed for successful parlays before quickly claiming he was only kidding.

While Shilo is permitted to bet on Browns games, as mentioned above, it hardly means he’s above scrutiny, as he has a direct line to their quarterback.

Of course, there’s little doubt he was indeed kidding, but it might still invite speculation.
