Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, took the stage Saturday night in a nationally televised CBS News Town Hall, sharing her views on faith and the loss of her husband.
Moderated by CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, the event was held in front of a live audience in New York City, marking the first in a series of CBS News town halls and debates.
It aired at 8 p.m. on CBS, with an extended version scheduled for Sunday across CBS News 24/7 and YouTube.
During the Town Hall, Kirk, 37, addressed the people who celebrated the killing of her husband with a blunt response.
“You’re sick,” Kirk said.

Kirk said she had previously seen social media comments and videos mocking her husband’s d3ath.
“He’s a human being,” she said. “You think he deserved that? Tell that to my three-year-old daughter.’
“You want to watch in high-res the video of my husband being murdered, and laugh, and say he deserves it? There’s something very sick in your soul, and I’m praying that God saves you,” she said.
After the message, Kirk addressed questions from attendees, including from Hunter Kozak, the last person to publicly engage with Charlie Kirk before the commentator was killed in September.

Kozak, a student at the university, asked Erika Kirk about her husband’s final message.
Also present was Robert Milgrim, whose daughter, Sarah Milgrim, a 26-year-old Israeli embassy staffer, was killed in May outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.
Kirk spoke candidly about her decision to forgive the man accused of killing her husband.
“I chose forgiveness because it was the only way forward,” she said. “I didn’t want to be defined by vengeance.”
Kirk later said the internet has fueled cruelty by dehumanizing people.
“The internet has dehumanized people,” she said.
Weiss asked Kirk how she processed the anger and conspiracy theories that followed her husband’s d3ath.
She claimed some news commentators tried to frame the killing as justified or staged, while others treated it as entertainment.
Fans at home took to X to voice their opinions on the Town Hall.
“The Erika Kirk show is just…weird,” one user penned.
Another added, “I’ve always LOVED your Honesty, and wondered where you went. Erika Kirk is on TV right now on CBS. She looks Demonic. Both hands covered in rings.”
“Hey @cbs Erika is not answering any questions. She is not going to say anything against trump everything trump says is so important yet Erika will never say it is trump saying evil things what a waste,” a third added.
Charlie Kirk was shot and killed during a live appearance at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, where he had been speaking as part of his national American Comeback campus tour.
Kirk arrived in a white shirt with the word “FREEDOM” written across it, tossing red “Make America Great Again” and “47” baseball caps.
Roughly 20 minutes into the event, he began taking questions from students.
One student asked him, “Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?”
“Too many,” Kirk replied.
The student followed up asking, “Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last 10 years?”
