Carrie Ann Inaba Gets Diagnosed With Sjogren’s Disease
Carrie Ann Inaba has been a judge on Dancing With The Stars for a long time. However, she was diagnosed with Sjogren’s Disease in 2013. This is an autoimmune disorder. It is an ongoing condition of the immune system, and like other autoimmune disorders, it sees the body mistakenly attacking its own tissues. She was hospitalized in April of this year due to the condition. It is something she has to live with for the rest of her life. However, she seems to have a lot of support.

She Admits Being Scared She Was Losing Her Job
Carrie Ann Inaba has admitted that she was scared of losing her job due to her disease. She had to miss the premiere of Dancing With The Stars last season due to her being sick. She thought this was going to make her lose her job. However, she was wrong, and she was supported the entire time.
“I have been met with so much love and support. Last season I missed the premiere episode. It was the first time in 20 years I ever missed a show since day one. And I was so afraid, I was preparing for the worst, like, ‘Oh, must be over.’”
She also admitted that she was scared to reveal her diagnosis for the same reason. However, the staff has been amazing to her, and has allowed her to prioritize her health while keeping her job.

It seems as though Carrie Ann thought missing the premiere was going to cost her job as a judge. However, that was not the case. The producers and staff have been extremely supportive about her disease. This is the support she has needed throughout her diagnosis and lifelong illness. While some are not fans of Carrie Ann as a judge, they do want the best for her and her health.
