Johnny Manziel is not blaming it on the alcohol.
Johnny Manziel has explained why he missed ‘College GameDay’ at Texas A&M’s playoff game last month.
The former Aggies quarterback insists he was not hungover.
Manziel had to be replaced on the December 20 episode, with Alex Caruso stepping in after he failed to appear.
One would think Manziel would be extra pumped to attend, given that his old school was facing Miami in the playoffs. However, it doesn’t appear that was the case, as he never turned up.
Internet sleuths tracked him down via social media, and it wasn’t difficult to tell where he had been the night before the game.
The 33-year-old previously broke his silence on social media. He has since gone into detail on his ‘Glory Daze’ podcast.
He admitted he was at the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight and Miami’s E11EVEN the night before. He also fessed up to having a few drinks but said that wasn’t what got him sick.
“I started feeling really bad—I walked to a restroom, tried and throw up,” he said. “And, you know, wasn’t drinking like I normally do in the past.”
Manziel claimed he started feeling worse around 2:15 AM and called his driver to pick him up.
“It’s about three o’clock now, my flight to College Station leaves about 6:30 or 7, and I’m just so sick that I put a bucket on my bed. I’m sitting there, I’m throwing up. I fall asleep for about 2 1/2 hours. I keep waking up every 30 minutes.
“And you know what I hadn’t realized is: I’m back in Dallas, two or three days prior, spending time with my nieces and my sister for her birthday and spending some family time. Two of my three nieces are really sick with some kind of virus….And I remember when my brother-in-law was like, ‘Yo, you’re you’re f—‘ed. And I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Didn’t really understand it. That night before the game: I’m hit with an unbelievable virus that really put me out.”
Johnny Manziel Says He Had Big Plans For ‘College GameDay’

CBS News did report that stomach flu was on the rise in North Texas last month, but Johnny Football’s history made it hard for folks to give him the benefit of the doubt.
“Yes, my past and who I am and the decisions I’ve made throughout the years…why wouldn’t it be an easy decision for you guys to pile on that and run with your assumptions and with your clickbait articles and your f—ing b——t TikToks?
“For all of the people that know me and know who I am as a person to my core, I appreciate each and every one of you for checking on me, for making sure that I was okay. This is even to the point where more people in my own family that know me the best are like, ‘Ha, you went out Miami and got too f—ed up and smoked the game.’ Never, in my wildest dreams, never in a million years would something other than truly an act of God take me out of being there to support my team.”
The ex-QB said he had big plans for the show and would have brought his Heisman Trophy along. He says he was going to set it down in front of Nick Saban.
He was also planning to take rapper Drake to the game.
Johnny Manziel says he doesn’t know where things are with ESPN or Texas A&M at the moment, but he has apologized to Pat McAfee, with whom he says he still has a great relationship.
Luka Doncic ‘destroys’ the Mavs on his return. Gets standing ovation and shows love to Mark Cuban

Luka Doncic hits 45 points in his first game in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles.
It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.
Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.
On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.
Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget
The Mavericks pay tribute to Luka Dončić
While the Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka Doncic remains heavily criticized, they handled his return to Dallas with undeniable grace. The organization made sure his first game back as a Laker was met with respect and appreciation.
Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.
Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
Luka Doncic ‘DESTROYS’ his old team
Luka delivered a dazzling performance against his former team, putting up 45 points on 16-of-28 shooting, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. He also added 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals in a game that showed exactly why he’s one of the best in the league.
From the opening tip, Doncic was locked in. By halftime, Doncic had racked up 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting in just 19 minutes—marking the 10th time in his career he’s scored 30 or more in a single half.
Though his scoring slowed in the second half, he continued to lead effectively, securing both a Lakers win and an unforgettable showing for the fans in Dallas.
