Summer might be ending soon, but Kayla Simmons isn’t ready to pack it in just yet. The former Marshall volleyball star has been making the most of her August in La Jolla Cove, California, and her latest Instagram post made it sure.

She was wearing a long-sleeved, backless blue swimsuit, standing against the Pacific backdrop. She was really looking stunning with some added shots of seals, waves, and cliffs in the caption, which made it much better, but followers’ eyes went straight to the main frame.

Simmons, crowned the “world’s hottest volleyball player” by fans, captioned it normally: “La Jolla diaries.” Sometimes four emojis say more than a press release.

The attention is nothing new for Simmons. She’s been in the spotlight since her days at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School in Florida, where she set 3,196 assists, 877 digs, 517 kills, 251 aces, and 89 blocks. She captained her high school and club teams, winning four district titles and making five Elite 8 runs. Her resume includes Wendy’s High School Heisman honors, multiple All-Area selections, and appearances at the USA Volleyball Junior Olympics.

By the time she joined Marshall University, Simmons had already built a reputation for her skill and leadership. She competed at national levels, earned AAU All-American honors, and played in high-profile tournaments like the USA Volleyball Women’s Junior A1 Team.

These days, she’s traded the court for the content world. Her posts blend travel snapshots, fitness moments, and glimpses of her life beyond volleyball. Whether she’s by the ocean or halfway across the globe, Simmons keeps her social media updated always.
