Wheel of Fortune shared the clip on January 23, and it’s been making rounds on the Internet ever since as viewers express their worry for Ryan, 51.
After Vanna, 68, shared the good news, the American Idol host popped into frame to celebrate with her.
Fans of the beloved game show were aghast at Ryan’s apperance.
“That’s Ryan Seacrest??? No Way. Absolutely no way,” one person posted on X.
“Ryan Seacrest is distracting from her announcement,” another fan wrote on TikTok.
A third questioned: “That’s Ryan Seacrest???!”

That appeared to be a popular sentiment.

Ahead of his hosting gig on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, he appeared on the Today Show.
During the interview, he was asked about his favorite romantic moment he’s witnessed during the celebration.
“I’m always tempted to propose on New Year’s Eve,” he joked.
Ryan then teased some romance scheduled for the show’s broadcast.
He did not, however, get down on one knee.
The American Idol host is rumored the be dating Australian real estate mogul Camille Orders.
They were first spotted together in Rome, out for a stroll with Ryan’s dog.
Neither has confirmed the relationship at this time.
A proposal might have been a bright spot in Ryan’s year.
In December 2025, he posted a heartbreaking tribute to his late father as he celebrated his first Christmas without him.
He posted photos of his family at Christmas dinner, reflecting on past years celebrations.
“First Christmas without Dad, but holding him close in all the ways we can. We miss you. Merry Heavenly Christmas,” he wrote.
Ryan’s father died after a battle with cancer in October 2025.
