Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are coming off a huge victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football, but everything is not okay with the team.

Josh Simmons was a very late addition to the Kansas City Chiefs’ injury report for their 30-17 Sunday Night Football win, as he would eventually get ruled out due to non-injury-related personal reasons.

Not much information has come out as to why he was suddenly unavailable beyond the Chiefs reportedly describing the matter as a “family situation.”

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid began his media availability this week, stating that he wouldn’t speak on Simmons’ circumstances.

“As far as the Josh Simmons situation goes, I’m not going to comment on it today,” Reid told reporters.

“[Chiefs general manager Brett] Veach is handling everything there. We’ll leave it at that.”

The situation must be dire since Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes clarified that he is “praying” for Simmons, though he declined to provide any additional details about the private situation.

It is uncommon for players to be placed on the Non-Football Injury list midseason, but should it happen, Simmons would be required to miss a minimum of four games.

The Chiefs always look out for each other. Scary things can happen off the field, and teammates need your back.

Patrick Mahomes is again getting the league frightened of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The team has crawled out of a 1-3 start to get back to .500 after a victory over the Lions, a game in which the star quarterback gave an evil eye to Lions head coach Dan Campbell.

Mahomes completed 22 of 30 passes for 257 yards and four total touchdowns, and he rushed 10 times for 32 yards. His dominating performance earned him praise as he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

With the Raiders coming up, the team is looking at a real possibility of being over .500 for the first time this year.
