Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift set a remarkable Guinness World Record before announcing their engagement on Tuesday.
After nearly a year of speculation, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift broke the news of their engagement in a heartwarming Instagram post with a caption reading, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married🧨“.
Predictably, the announcement became front-page news worldwide. Even sports-only outlets like ESPN and NFL.com have the engagement news listed among their top stories.
But that’s not the only significant news involving the beloved power couple. According to the Guinness World Records, Swift and Kelce broke a new record when the Grammy Award-winning singer appeared on the “New Heights” podcast that he co-hosts with his older brother, Jason Kelce:
“And we can now reveal that the episode also broke a world record. With a total of 1.3 million, it pulled in the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube on 13 August. At the time of writing, the episode “Taylor Swift on Reclaiming Her Masters, Wrapping The Eras Tour, and The Life of a Showgirl” has been viewed more than 20 million times on the platform.”
Given Swift’s status as the world’s biggest music star, it’s no surprise that her appearance on “New Heights” led to a new Guinness World Record. And perhaps only the 35-year-old singer herself can break that record with another appearance on the Kelce brothers’ show.
The ring Kelce proposed with is estimated to be worth $550,000.
Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift Relationship Has Helped NFL Ratings Drastically
There’s no way of getting the official count, but the NFL (Chiefs games especially) have enjoyed significant jumps in television ratings ever since Kelce and Swift confirmed their relationship in Sept. 2023.
Surely, we all know non-football fans who at least turn into the occasional Chiefs games because of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. It’s not too often that an NFL player links up with the world’s biggest music star, after all.
It’s no coincidence that the NFL gave the Chiefs seven prime-time games this season, more than any other teams. And because the league has the option to “flex” prime-time games, who’s to say the Chiefs won’t play more than that?
