Company Puts Up $5,000 For 'Phillies Karen' To Give Back Kid’s Baseball, With One ConditionPhillies Karen confronts dad and son. (Photo Via X)
Some baseball memories just don’t tend to leave the discussion. The scene happened at a Phillies game against the Marlins, a dad caught a home run ball and gave it to his son for his birthday. Before they could even celebrate, a woman demanded the ball and walked off with it. Fans booed, the video spread online, and she quickly became known as “Phillies Karen.”

Now, a trading card company has stepped in with an unusual offer. They’re putting $5,000 on the table if she agrees to give the ball back, but only with one condition.

Blowout Cards announced the deal on social media.“We’ll offer $5,000 for that baseball right here, right now … but there is a catch,” the company said. This is not just for gaining attention. They also added, “We want that ball signed and inscribed by her – and only her, whoever she is – ‘I’m sorry’ so we can simply give it back to the kid. Our offer is official and the offer is firm.”

The boy’s dad, Drew Feltwell, spoke to NBC Philadelphia about the moment he first handed his son the ball. “I felt like Superdad putting that ball in his glove and giving him a hug,” he said. The joy didn’t last long after the confrontation with “Phillies Karen.”

Yet the story didn’t end on a bad note. Phillies outfielder Harrison Bader stepped up when he heard about it. He gave the boy his bat, which quickly became the new prized birthday gift. “I wish I had the ball for my son to put in his room next to the bat,” Feltwell admitted. “But if I had the ball, I probably wouldn’t have gotten the bat, so it worked out fine.”

Even so, the card company’s offer could put the story back in the boy’s hands. If the woman accepts, he’ll have both the bat and the baseball to display.

The internet has worked overtime to identify “Phillies Karen,” but no one has pinned her down. The clip earned national attention, with Feltwell even appearing on Good Morning America. The father has made one request to fans who are furious. “Please don’t do anything to that lady,” he told USA Today“Leave it alone. Somebody knows her and can talk to her, that’s different. But God, I don’t want people breaking in their house and stuff like that. The internet already messed her up pretty good.”

For now, the ball is the main thing. A kid waits. A company has cash ready. And a woman known only by a nickname can make it right.
