Jaden Ivey’s wife, Caitlyn Ivey, has addressed her husband’s accusations that she ghosted him after he made controversial comments on an Instagram Live session.

In a post on her Instagram stories, Caitlyn pushed back on Jaden’s claims that she stopped responding to his texts after the Bulls released him on Monday. The mother of three also had a statement to all the people who delivered hateful messages to her.

“We were communicating all morning of that day,” Caitlyn wrote. “People say things for attention, do not be deceived.”

“If you know me, you know I have never abandoned that man through all the trials. And I still haven’t now. There is obviously a lot more going on, so leave your conspiracies and guesses to yourselves.”

After being released by the Bulls, Ivey went on Instagram Live again and said he felt betrayed by his family and that his wife had broken off communication.

“Those who are around me, those who are my family members betraying me because of what I spoke,” Ivey said. “The truth. Betraying me. Saying that I’m losing my mind. Saying that I’m crazy. Saying that I don’t know the truth.”

“…My wife is in here, and she’s not even texting me.”

Caitlyn was a volleyball player for Purdue at the same time Jaden Ivey was a standout player on the Boilermakers’ basketball team.

It’s unclear when they got married, but they have three children together: sons Noah James, born in February 2023, and Isaiah Edward, born in March 2025, and a daughter, Shiloh Elizabeth, born in February 2024.

Jaden Ivey once spoke about his relationship with his wife

On the “Spectrum Sports” podcast in January 2025, Jaden Ivey opened up about his personal life. Ivey shared that he was sexually abused as a child. He said he had a lot of anger inside of him, as well as struggles with alcohol and porn addiction.

The former Detroit Pistons guard also credited his wife, Caitlyn Ivey, for sticking with him through everything.

“Before I married my wife, we had went through trials together,” Jaden said. “I dealt with anger, she had to deal with a lot of anger that I had in my heart, and that turned into me somewhat of an abuser. I’m not saying that was it, there was things that I tried to fill in my heart. … I’m so grateful for my wife because she’s been there for me through thick and thin like through every bad moment of my life.”

Ivey’s mother, Niele Ivey, the coach for the Notre Dame women’s basketball team, hasn’t addressed Jaden’s recent issues. She was named court coach for Team USA’s training camp in Arizona this week.
