Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons has reacted to the passing of his former teammate, Marshawn Kneeland, in an emotional social media post.
Kneeland, 24, died under tragic circumstances on Wednesday night, having only just scored the first touchdown of his career on Monday night.
The former Western Michigan standout was in action against the Arizona Cardinals for the ‘Monday Night Football’ showdown and recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to give the Cowboys their first score of the night in the 27-17 loss.
Parsons, who was traded to Green Bay following an offseason contract standoff, spent a season with the second-year DE, who was drafted by Dallas last April.
He was among several NFL players who took to social media to mourn the tragic death.
“I’m sorry lil brother, I hope you find peace,” the pass rusher wrote on his Instagram Stories, adding heart and broken-heart emojis.

According to police, Kneeland died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being chased by Department of Public Safety Troopers in Dallas late Wednesday night.
“DPS Aircraft and Troopers, along with the Frisco Police Department, searched the immediate area and found the driver, 24 YOA, Marshawn Kneeland, of Plano, deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the authorities said in a statement.”
The incident is similar to the one involving former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy, who is said to have shot himself after he was pursued by police in Houston earlier this year.
Lacy was a top-ranked prospect but lost his draft eligibility after the NFL removed him due to an arrest for his involvement in a fatal accident in December.
Kneeland, meanwhile, had played 18 total games in the NFL.
His death has rocked the NFL community, with tributes continuing to pour in.
