NFL Fans Are Done With Troy Aikman After His Latest Primetime Performance And The Backlash Is Getting Ugly
Week 2 of the 2025 NFL regular season is wrapping up on Monday evening, with not just one, but two games.
There will be two “Monday Night Football” games to wrap up Week 2 of the 2025 regular season slate. You don’t typically get primetime doubleheaders, at least in the National Football League, but we’ll get one in Week 2.
C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans will take on Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in one game. In the other, Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers will be taking on Pete Carroll and the Raiders, in an matchup of old NFC West division rivals.
But why are there two “Monday Night Football” games tonight?

Here’s why there are two “Monday Night Football” games in Week 2
ESPN and ABC got the rights two two “Monday Night Football” games through its 2021 broadcasting agreement with the National Football League.
Disney got the rights to 23 games per season starting in 2022. That was up from a previous high of 17 games under the previous agreement.
There are only 18 weeks in the NFL regular season, so the extra games had to be put somewhere. ABC and ESPN chose to utilize those extra games for double headers in primetime. In total, we’ll get four “Monday Night Football” doubleheaders for the 2025 NFL season.
