Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reportedly had his house burglarized while playing in a nationally televised game against the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.
The burglary is reported to have occurred in the high-profile Oklahoma neighborhood of Nichols Hills.
A report from News 9 noted that police responded to a break-in call at a property believed to belong to the reigning NBA MVP, with law enforcement showing a heavy presence in the area, deploying K-9 units and helicopters.

Details regarding the incident remain sparse, but there are questions over whether the burglars were aware of the player’s schedule, which is easily accessible, and targeted the home because they knew he would not be there.
Gilgeous-Alexander has established himself as one of the biggest names in the NBA, having led the Thunder to a championship last season. He has also helped them to an undefeated 6-0 start to the 2025/25 campaign, but has faced criticism over the volume of free throws he shoots.
He scored 31 points along with seven assists against the Wizards on Thursday night.

The player has not commented on the report noted above, while the Thunder haven’t released any statements. It is not known if anything was stolen from the property.
It’s also worth noting that the authorities have not confirmed the identity of the homeowner, although multiple sources have linked the address to the OKC guard.
The burglary marks the latest in a worrying trend involving professional athletes and their homes, given that several notable players across various leagues have had their properties targeted while they are playing games.
NFL stars such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow are among high-profile sports personalities who have had their residences broken into while away, prompting the league to send a memo warning of sophisticated criminal gangs who specialize in burglarizing the homes of athletes, particularly while they are with their teams.
