Shocking Reason Maria Bartiromo Was Suddenly Dropped By Fox News After Alleged Betrayal Emerges
Maria Bartiromo, a Fox Business host who had been with the network for 20 years, was abruptly fired on September 3 after allegedly betraying the network by leaking texts to the White House about an internal policy opposing the president.
The Fox News host, who had anchored Mornings with Maria Bartiromo and Sunday Morning Futures, and was a steadfast supporter of Donald Trump, was suddenly terminated from the network shortly after broadcasting the final episode of her daily morning program on Fox Business.
While some viewers have indicated they won’t miss her, others have demanded answers about the cause of her unexpected exit from the channel. This comes after it was confirmed that she had been dropped, with viewers seeing her take over Karoline Leavitt’s old role.
According to Status, she had shared texts with the White House regarding a directive from senior management instructing staff not to amplify Trump’s election conspiracies on air.
The publication reports that the incident took place in July after Trump’s primetime address to the nation, where he asserted China had interfered in the 2020 presidential election.

Fox News had reportedly issued written guidance to senior staff to direct coverage of Trump’s address away from the unsubstantiated claims, which the network largely adhered to, despite the White House’s astonishment.
After Bartiromo was questioned about the minimal coverage, she allegedly disclosed that her superiors had mandated the claims not be covered. This constituted a breach of her employment contract, as she had revealed confidential information belonging to the network.
It remained unclear whether Bartiromo had been approached by a White House official or by Trump himself.

She becomes the second high-profile abrupt dismissal from Fox in recent years, following Tucker Carlson’s sudden departure in 2023. Carlson’s exit came after internal messages surfaced during the Dominion lawsuit against the network, revealing him using offensive language to ridicule executives and colleagues, as well as expressing violent and racist sentiments.
Bartiromo, Carlson, Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, and Jeanine Pirro were all named in the Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit against the network, which alleged that between November 2020 and January 2021, each had made false claims that the company’s voting machines had been manipulated to rob Trump of the 2020 election.
Fox subsequently settled with Dominion for $787.5 million.
Dobbs’ program was canceled in 2021, and he passed away in 2024. Pirro has since departed the network to serve in the Trump Administration as the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.
Her hiring came after former Fox and Friends personality Pete Hegseth also joined the administration as Secretary of Defense, a department he has since rebranded as the Department of War.
Hannity now stands as the sole remaining defendant still at the network. It comes after a TV star revealed Trump’s 2-word comment in his limo that left her terrified.
