Klay Thompson’s girlfriend, Megan Thee Stallion, got a big break in her defamation case against Milagro Gramz after rapper Tory Lanez was ordered to pay a $20,000 fine in contempt of court.
On Sunday, Meghann Cuniff reported that Lanez was held in contempt of court for refusing to answer questions in a deposition.
“Tory Lanez and his lawyer have been held in contempt of court after Lanez refused to answer questions in a deposition in Megan Thee Stallion’s defamation lawsuit against Milagro Gramz. He’s to pay $20,000, and jury in Megan’s trial will be told he refused to answer questions,” Cuniff tweeted.

In her X post, the independent reporter attached a copy of a legal document containing the signature of US Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid. Stallion’s attorneys had initially filed a defamation lawsuit against Gramz on Oct. 30, 2024.
In the original filing, Megan Thee Stallion alleged the YouTuber acted as a “mouthpiece” and spread false statements in favor of Tory Lanez, who is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Thompson’s girlfriend in the foot in 2020.

Megan Thee Stallion and Milagro Gramz attended the defamation lawsuit hearing in Miami on Monday. The rapper and the YouTuber were both present at the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. U.S. Courthouse.

“The pool of prospective jurors is expected soon. Megan is at plaintiff’s table and Milagro arrived a few minutes ago with her lawyers. They were both sitting at the tables when I stepped out to update you. Milagro walked out with one of her lawyers as I was typing this,” she tweeted.

In an earlier post, Cuniff revealed that Stallion’s case against Gramz is not the first time a celebrity rapper has filed a defamation lawsuit against an internet personality. According to the documents she presented in an X post, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have done it before.
“The trial is not the first of its kind. Cardi B pursued a similar defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K, and she won at trial federal court in Atlanta in 2022. Nicki Minaj also settled a similar lawsuit against a blogger who goes by Nosey Heaux,” she wrote.

On Oct. 9, Gramz was sanctioned for deleting messages even after she had been formally notified to retain them a day before Stallion’s attorneys filed the lawsuit. Going into the case, the jurors are instructed that Milagro “deleted thousands of text messages” despite having received a written notice not to do so.
