Mark Sanchez lost his job at Fox Sports after a physical altercation and subsequent arrest.
Mark Sanchez has broken his silence more than two months after his arrest for assaulting a man, which resulted in the former NFL quarterback being sta/bbed in self-defense.
On Oct. 4, news broke that Mark Sanchez was hospitalized after being sta/bbed in Indianapolis during a physical altercation. In a stunning twist, it was reported that Sanchez was actually arrested on multiple charges for attacking a 69-year-old truck driver.
An intoxicated and angry Sanchez confronted and attacked the driver as he was disposing of restaurant grease. The man sta/bbed Sanchez in self-defense and also required treatment for his injuries in a hospital.
One month later, Fox Sports fired Mark Sanchez from his job as an NFL analyst. The network decided to replace Sanchez with former New Orleans Saints quarterback and Super Bowl 44 champion Drew Brees.
Two months after the altercation in Indianapolis, Sanchez has finally broken his silence. The former New York Jets signal-caller posted two photos of his wife, Perry, with their twin daughters.
Here’s the caption:
“This time of year always makes me look around and appreciate what matters, but this one hits different.I’m just grateful—to wake up, to be home, and to be able to wrap my arms around my wife and kids.
Thank you to the people who kept me standing and gave my family opportunities to share moments like these. From our family to yours, we wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season.”
Sanchez was hit with three misdemeanors and a felony battery charge. The felony carries a prison sentence of one to five years.

After the failed Brett Favre experiment, the Jets traded up via the Cleveland Browns to take Mark Sanchez fifth overall in 2009. Despite shaky performances and turnover issues, Sanchez did enough to help the Jets to consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances in 2009 and 2010.

Notably, Sanchez outdueled Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady on the road in his last three playoff wins. But the Sanchez era in New York began to unravel in 2011, and he eventually lost his starting job to Geno Smith two years later.
Sanchez bounced around the league and spent the final half of his career as a second or third-stringer. Per Pro Football Reference, Sanchez completed 56.6 percent of his pass attempts for 15,357 yards, 86 touchdowns and 89 interceptions.
