SHOCKING: Arizona State Is “Never Beating The Allegations” After Announcing Ridiculous New Major That Will Ruin America

They have a bit of a history.

Arizona State University’s newly announced influencer major has generated plenty of discussion, but one viral post suggests the internet is just as interested in revisiting the school’s colorful history.

After ASU unveiled its new content creation and influencer-focused journalism program, a post on X listed several incidents from the university’s athletic past, claiming that the school would “never beat the allegations.”

The post referenced former running back Cam Skattebo, who became one of college football’s biggest stars during ASU‘s 2024 season after transferring from Sacramento.

It also mentioned the widely reported 2005 case involving ASU cheerleader Courtney Simpson, who appeared in an adult film while wearing her cheer uniform, drawing national attention.

It also alluded to former running back J.R. Redmond, who famously married an athletic department employee in 1999 after the couple believed doing so would resolve an NCAA eligibility issue involving impermissible benefits.

The final reference pointed to Arizona State’s infamous 1994 men’s basketball point-shaving scandal involving guard Stevin “Hedake” Smith, who later served prison time after participating in a gambling scheme.

The post generated plenty of debate.

“Pat Tillman, Dan Severn, Cain Velasquez, Jeremy Staat etc make up for it,” one user argued.

Another responded, “If we’re going to talk about allegations then: Penn State, Michigan, Miami…etc. Could you please stand up.”

A third pushed back even harder…

“Wow! School is stuck with outdated stereotype because:

A RB transferred there from Sac State, A girl had sex 20 years ago, Added content creation for journalism to a college curriculum., A guy gambled there 30 years ago, Someone had an affair over a decade ago 🤯”

While many of the examples referenced in the viral post involve real, widely reported incidents, they span more than three decades and involve unrelated people and programs.

Still, the influencer major has unexpectedly revived those old storylines, putting Arizona State back in the social media spotlight.
