Patrick Patterson is on the hot seat aftr his comments sent social media into a frenzy.
The Los Angeles Clippers forward married his girlfriend earlier this year, but when one fan saw his wife, he questioned him on it. This one fan basically stated that if he had never made it to the NBA, the woman in question would’ve never married him.
Paterson fired back with the ‘love is love’ answer, but the fan kept going, telling him that he grew up loving Black women and stated the White woman he married would’ve never looked his way if had been working at Walmart.
That’s when Patterson referred to settle for Black Women by calling them ‘bulldogs.”

Patrick Patterson is in hot water after he responded to a fan on Instagram who suggested that Patrick wouldn’t have a chance with his white wife if he wasn’t in the NBA. Patrick responded by calling black women bulldogs to which he later apologized.
It all started when Patterson posted a photo of his wife Sarah Nasser, wishing her a Happy Anniversary when a fan replied about his choice in women. The fan questioned why he waited until he got money to start dating white women, and insinuated if he worked in Walmart he wouldn’t have a chance with his wife.

He wrote, “So I should settle for a bulldog and act like I’m happy with my life and preach ‘keep it in your race’ to the world as if Dr. King didn’t fight/die for equality, acceptance, all cultures loving one another, and no hate? “No thanks,” continued the 30-year-old basketball player. “That maybe your life but I don’t want that for mine or my family. Color doesn’t matter. Wake up.”

Los Angeles Clippers Patrick Patterson is not one of those players basketball fans talk much about because of his role on the Clippers, but he was thrust into controversy when he began responding to fans on Instagram.
It all began when Patterson shared a photo of himself with his wife, Sarah Nassar, for their anniversary. “In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours,” Patterson wrote in the caption. “In all the world, there is no love for you like mine. Happy Anniversary.”
A person jumped in his comment section and called Patterson a “statistic” for making it in the NBA and then marrying a white woman. “I bet she’s the only one in her family history to date a black stay woke my guy,” the person stated.
Patterson didn’t appreciate that comment, so he replied: “So I should settle for a bulldog and act like I’m happy with my life and preach ‘keep it in your race’ to the world as if Dr. King didn’t fight/die for equality, acceptance, all cultures loving one another, and no hate?”
That exchange happened weeks ago, but it started gaining traction over the past few days.
The backlash got so bad that he had to issue an apology and state why he said what he said.
“I want to address my use of the word ‘bulldog’ during a conversation with someone who I felt was making disrespectful remarks about my wife and our relationship,” he wrote. “I responded with the same, making a cruel comment on his wife’s physical stature. I know that two wrongs don’t make a right, but I let my emotions get the better of me in the heat of the moment. For that, I apologize to him, his wife, and the rest of his family for the hurtful and crude comments made on that day.”
“I love my black people,” he wrote, adding that he doesn’t hold hate for any ethnic group. “I believe in love and equality.”
It didn’t work as he still got roasted.
