James called out the older generation of NBA stars for consistently bashing today’s league and playersLeBron James (Photo By Jesse Johnson/Imagn Images)
LeBron James has been one of the biggest draws of the NBA. Establishing a legacy of his own, James has cemented his name in the list of all-time NBA greats. But along with the towering fame comes a lot of hazards. With every step taken and every word spoken, King James has to be very careful. Otherwise, things can be very well taken out of context and converted into a controversy like recently.

Posts of the Lakers’ superstar have been doing the rounds on the internet. In the video, James could be heard saying that he wanted “nothing to do with white people.” The news soon spread like wildfire, and people started to bash him, terming James as a racist.

But the reality is pretty much different. While James did speak those lines, the quotes were taken out of context. Originally, James said these lines on the HBO series, ‘The Shop’ back on August 28, 2018. The original quote, as it stands, is as follows:

“I went to an all-white high school, Catholic high school, so when I first went to the ninth grade in the high school, I was all of a sudden like ‘I’m not f***ing with white people’. My whole, I was so institutionalized, growing up in the hood, it’s like ‘they don’t f*** with us, they don’t want us to succeed’ […] So, I’m like, ‘I’m going to this school to play ball, and that’s it,” James said.
