The murd3r case against Karmelo Anthony continues to stir public scrutiny, and now, financial questions are fueling the conversation.

In a new Facebook post, Karmelo’s father, Drew Anthony, revealed that his son has officially requested a court-appointed lawyer, citing financial hardship. The request comes despite the family previously raising over half a million dollars through public donations and now seeking to raise $1.4 million.

“Today, we received the official news that the Collin County District Attorney has indicted our son—your nephew, your friend, your neighbor,” Drew wrote.

A grand jury indicted 17-year-old Karmelo on one count of first-degree murd3r for fatally stbbing Austin Metcalf at a Frisco, Texas, track meet.

Family Pushed To The Edge

Karmelo once had private legal representation, but his father said the family could no longer sustain those costs. Now, he’s relying on the court system for a public defender as the case moves closer to trial. The shift has raised eyebrows, especially after the family raised more than $500,000 through crowdfunding platforms. Their most recent fundraising goal is $1.4 million.

Critics online have questioned where the money has gone. In response, the Anthony family has explained that the donations have supported various emergency expenses. From legal fees to trauma counseling, relocation after threats, transportation to court, and basic living costs. “These funds are being used to cover essential and urgent needs,” Drew wrote, stressing that their situation extends beyond the courtroom.

Officials released Karmelo from the Collin County jail after the court reduced his bond. However, prosecutors clarified that because he was 17 at the time of the incident, he won’t face the 3ath penalty. “The Supreme Court has said… you can’t even get them life without parole,” Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis told Fox News Digital.

Meanwhile, the family of Austin Metcalf continues to process their own grief. Jeff Metcalf, Austin’s father, told TMZ that he would have supported the d3ath penalty had Karmelo been 18 at the time. “It’s the law, unfortunately,” he said, noting that the timing changed everything.

As both families brace for what lies ahead, the Anthonys say the legal and emotional toll has only grown. With bills rising and public pressure mounting, they’re asking for continued support to keep fighting on multiple fronts.

Haliey Welch returned to social media following two weeks of silence prompted by the launch of her meme coin backfiring.

The “Hawk Tuah” Girl, as she’s also known, announced the release of a crypto altcoin branded $HAWK earlier this month that soared to a market cap of close to $500 million before quickly plummeting to a loss of 95 percent of its value.

She put out a tweet denying any wrongdoing in the immediate aftermath before disappearing. But she was back on Friday to reveal she was working with a law firm to take those responsible to task.

Check her post out below:

“Number one rule in life: Don’t trust financial advice from girl called “Hawk Tua”,” a user suggested.

“You’re going to jail Haliey Welch,” another fan warned.

“Hold the responsible parties accountable” ? That would be you. Even if you had no direct involvement, it’s still your name and face being dragged through the mud,” someone added.

“🚨BREAKING: After sleeping for 332 hours, 14 minutes, and 72 seconds, Haliey Welch AKA Hawk Tuah has finally woken up. She now holds the world record for longest time sleeping,” the popular greg account posted.

“They played you and ripped off your fans. But web 3 is like that. Everyone warned you. You picked the team to work with and got paid $125k up front. You have to take some blame,” a comment read.

“I TOLD YOU something was not right….It made no sense for her to screw over her fans. I hope everyone is made whole,” someone wrote.

“I honestly feel bad for you.  When fame comes quick like that, everybody becomes your friend and it’s hard to know who to trust,” said another.

Haliey Welch Files Class Action Lawsuit

The law firm named in Haliey’s tweet has filed a class action lawsuit against the creators of the $HAWK coin.

They have also suggested that the “Hawk Tuah” Girl was a victim as she was fed bad information by people who were simply trying to take advantage of her viral success.

Haliey is expected to return to regular programming once she clears her name.

Kansas City Chiefs President Forced To Address Rumors That Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s Relationship Is Just A “Marketing Strategy” For The Team

There’s a conspiracy theory for just about everything, including bizarre ones relating to the highly publicized relationship between Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The three-time Super Bowl champion has been in a relationship with Taylor Swift for over a year. Their rumored romance was confirmed when Swift attended the Chiefs’ Week 3, 2023 home game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelce’s romance with Swfit has been a giant win for the Chiefs and the NFL, too. She has brought plenty more attention to the NFL and contributed to the Chiefs’ skyrocketing popularity worldwide.

Naturally, conspiracy theorists believe the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift romance is simply a marketing ploy to help the Chiefs and the league. But Chiefs president Mark Donovan finally addressed the ridiculous rumor during an appearance on NBC’s “Squawk Box” program:

“I’d love to say that it was a marketing strategy, but it is an authentic relationship. And we’re happy to have it, and it’s been nothing but good for us.

I think the best thing I can say about the whole relationship and the impact it’s had on us is, Taylor Swift is an authentic member of the Kansas City Chiefs kingdom. She’s an authentic fan and that matters to our fans and our fan base and to matters to us and we try to respect that.”
