After a banner rookie season with the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark is now set for an encore.
Clark led the WNBA in assists and three-pointers in her first season, winning Rookie of the Year and making the All-Star Game. She exceeded the lofty expectations she had coming in as the No. 1 overall pick.
Even with all the accolades, Clark came into the offseason looking to get better. Specifically, she aimed to get stronger and improve her conditioning.
Recently, a photo of Clark showing off much more-defined and muscular arms went viral. At practice Monday, she confirmed that bulking up was a major part of her offseason regimen.

“That was my biggest focus in the offseason, just trying to get stronger and really working on that,” Clark said. “Really thankful for Sarah [Kessler], our strength and conditioning coach, for putting in a lot of time with me. We were in here consistently. I think that was the biggest thing for myself, just having that consistency.”
“I certainly feel a lot stronger,” Clark added. “I’m a pretty self-aware person. I knew that was going to be a huge part of [the offseason]. It’s going to help me offensively, it’s going to help me defensively. It’s going to help me get not as tired during games.”
All of this is welcome news for the Fever, and might be concerning for their opponents.. After a quick acclimation period, Clark was fantastic as a rookie, breathing life into a Fever franchise that had lost its way.
