But before anyone could start tracking private jets to Happy Valley, Miss Terry Saban stepped in on College GameDay and made things crystal clear the Sabans aren’t packing their bags. “I have no doubt if Nick wanted to go back to coaching, he could win his eighth national championship,” she said.

“But we’re having too much fun. We wouldn’t want to take that opportunity away from all of our baby coaches, like Kirby and Lane.” Then she laughed and added, “I haven’t heard a number yet.” Classic Miss Terry.

“They’ve got to hire somebody that has a history of having some success,” Saban said via On3. “Someone who knows how to develop a program, continue to win, and deal with success.”

But he quickly turned the spotlight back on James Franklin. “People used to get on him about not beating us — but we didn’t get beat very much,” Saban joked. “He created an expectation that was really difficult to live up to, but he created it.”
