A concerning scene developed about an hour into Tuesday’s Baltimore Ravens practice when a key defensive back went down hard. The injury occurred during one-on-one drills against a wide receiver on a go route. Feet became tangled in the coverage attempt, which led to a forceful fall onto the ground. Trainers immediately attended to the left leg and knee area while the player remained visibly uncomfortable.
No weight could be placed on the affected leg, so movement toward the team facility was assisted by staff. Furthermore, the player required a cart to be removed from the field after the evaluation. Meanwhile, this marked the first time a player was carted off during the current training camp. Consequently, the secondary depth chart raises immediate questions about availability in the coming days.
Wiggins Represents Critical Piece for Secondary Stability

The 2024 first-round selection has been viewed as one of the players the roster can least afford to lose for extended periods. Additionally, experienced options such as Marlon Humphrey, Chidobe Awuzie, and T.J. Tampa provide some depth in the cornerback group. In addition, any absence would likely elevate Awuzie into a starting role opposite Humphrey on the outside. Therefore, the timing of the setback creates challenges early in the camp schedule.
Moreover, the third-year player had recently expressed optimism about being fully healthy following offseason procedures, having previously operated at reduced capacity. The entire incident has shifted attention toward medical evaluations and potential timelines for return.
