Alysa Liu has welcomed more than six million new followers on her Instagram social media page, but she doesn’t feel like a celebrity.
Why?

Because she’s not even checking her social media.
In one of her more candid interviews since returning home from the Winter Olympic Games, where she won two gold medals, Liu opened up to Access Hollywood about everything that’s been going on in her life.
When compared to American gymnast Simone Biles and told that she is now being compared to the Summer Games legend, Liu balked at the idea, saying that her Team USA counterpart is “on a whole other level” of athleticism.
After that, though, the interview probed into something many fans have been wondering: Would Liu be interested in competing on “Dancing With the Stars,” as many other Olympians have done in the past?
“Nah, I don’t think so,” she said with a smile. “Sorry.”
Liu has already come out in the past week to say that she’s excited for the new figure skating season and even hopes to continue her momentum into 2030 for the French Alps Olympics.
While she won’t be dancing with any stars, Liu’s current figure skating campaign isn’t over just yet.
Although she won the individual women’s gold at the Olympics in Milan, the World Championships are happening at the end of March in Prague, Czechia.
Liu is the defending women’s champion and will face most of the same top talent she faced at the Olympics once more in only a few weeks.
After that, though, she can rest. Maybe then “Dancing With the Stars” producers can see if she’ll change her mind.

No applause. Just a son left standing in the stillness, trying to understand a goodbye he wasn’t ready for.
