Peg Munson, 62, and Mel Owens, 66, are in their golden years. They’re both divorcees who joined The Golden Bachelor for a second chance at love. They found it with each other. The former NFL player didn’t propose to Peg Munson in the season finale, but he gave her a diamond ring to show his commitment.

A ring is symbolic of the commitment, but you have to live the commitment and stand by it with your actions. This was our commitment going forward to live our lives the way we want to. Whatever comes after, comes after, we are going to live the way we want to live and it’s going to be fun. The ring is a symbol, but it’s more the way we act towards each other,” Mel Owens said in an interview after the finale.

Mel Owens & Peg Munson Open Up About Future Together

Mel Owens and his final rose winner are still getting to know each other. He revealed to Us Weekly that he barely spent even 24 hours face-to-face with any of his contestants, including his current girlfriend.

“That’s why Peg and I decided we spend some time together, get to know one another and then whatever happens from there happens from there. And then if it happens, we’ll let everybody know,” Mel Owens told the outlet.

Right now, the couple doesn’t plan to make any big moves. “[Peg] lives in Las Vegas. I live in Southern California. It’s a 45-minute plane ride. Four-hour drive. So I anticipate [spending] a lot of time together,” the Golden Bachelor star said.

After his NFL career ended in injury, Mel Owens went to school and became a lawyer. Peg Munson was a firefighter for over two decades before she retired. She now works as a real estate agent in Las Vegas, Nevada. She specializes in specializes in interior design and remodels. The Golden Bachelor winner remodeled her home a few years ago and shared a glimpse with fans.

Peg Munson divorced her first husband in 2003. She raised their daughter, Dakota, as a single parent. In a social media video of her home, Peg said she was proud for her daughter to grow up in Las Vegas. The Golden Bachelor star said they lived in the beautiful home for decades.

While Peg and Mel plan to pursue their relationship, they don’t want to rush into anything. So, she may not be leaving that gorgeous house in Nevada to move to California any time soon.
