Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas has dropped some advice on rookies that they might not want to accept.
Arenas, who is known for his wild takes, recently made a pretty bold claim about the girlfriends of NBA players while speaking on his ‘Gil’s Arena’ podcast. The ex-point guard stated that a huge percentage of women dating NBA rookies will sleep with other players in the league while they’re together as their men would be on the bottom rung no matter how high they’re drafted.
“70% of y’all girlfriends gonna sleep with another NBA player, while y’all dating so get that over you,” he remarked. “You introducing her to a life that you’re the beginning of. No matter if you’re the No. 1 pick, you are the bottom end of it.”
Gilbert added that girlfriends are just as star-struck as players themselves and have individuals around the league who are household names whom they already admire.
“Right, there’s players on that team that you watched and admire, they watching and admire,” he continued.
“They had crushes on, they got crushes. If you is you, right? You know, there’s a Curry in the league that she been watching, and LeBron in the league that she been watching, got Jayson Tatum, she got Ja Morant. you on the road.”
“And Ja Morant hit through the DM. Trust me, brother. You gotta let it go.”
We’ve heard of a number of NBA WAGS who had affairs with their partners’ teammates.
Arenas himself has confessed to sleeping with former teammate Nick Young’s girlfriends, though he claims he did it to teach the younger player a valuable lesson.
