Gerry Turner announced earlier this year that he was releasing a memoir about his life and stint on reality TV. Of course, that meant addressing his quick marriage and divorce. Theresa Nist previously expressed concern about what he’d say about her.
It turns out her concerns were valid. Gerry discussed in depth what he wrote in the book, and he did not paint his ex-wife in a good light. Theresa Nist addressed her ex-husband’s “hurtful” claims.

Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV hits bookstores on Tuesday, November 4. But Gerry Turner gave a preview of his memoir to Us Weekly in a lengthy interview. Despite only being married to Theresa Nist for three months, Gerry spent most of the time slamming his ex.

He made several surprising allegations about his former wife. He claimed that he was told by several other Golden Bachelor contestants that Theresa Nist was on the show to win, not necessarily for love.
“I was, I believe, made out to be a villain,” he said about the public’s perception after the divorce. He added that they had vowed to “protect each other” after the televised interview revealing their divorce. Instead, he claimed that his ex immediately went on social media to address the split.
Gerry Turner hinted that Theresa went back on her word about retiring from her job so they could travel. “Then after the show, she always went back to, “Well, I really want to keep working.” And that just pretty much makes it an impossible situation,” he told the outlet.
The Golden Bachelor star admitted that he shouldn’t have gone through the wedding. He even told third-place runner-up Faith Martin that he felt “trapped” into marrying Theresa. He added, “I felt like I was doing the right thing. I just didn’t feel overjoyed about it.”

Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist didn’t know each other long before tying the knot. He admitted in his book that they didn’t even see each other that much between their engagement and the wedding.
Us Weekly reached out to Theresa Nist for her reaction to her ex feeling “trapped” into marrying her. “It makes me very sad to think that he felt empty and trapped. I wish he had said something and just ended it,” she said in a statement.

Theresa added, “But at least now I understand why he was so hurtful to me so many times. And I will say this. Those in glass houses should not throw stones. I do wish him all the best.”
Gerry Turner recently put his lake house in Hudson, Indiana, up for sale. Days later, he proposed to his girlfriend of less than a year, Lana Sutton.
When he was asked if he was worried about Theresa reading the book, he replied, “I’m not worried; I think she should be worried.”
