‘Golden Bachelor’ Mel Owens Finds His Love

During Mel’s search for love on The Golden Bachelor, Mel Owens was quiet. People who worked on the show were worried that he wouldn’t be open enough to ask anyone to marry him at the end. He didn’t ask anyone to marry him. He did give Peg Munson a big, beautiful Neil Lane diamond ring to show her that he was serious about her, though. Golden Bachelor’s Cindy Cullers Wanted Mel To Commit

In the end, Mel’s lack of commitment to an engagement was a problem she just couldn’t get past. Cindy said, “I have a philosophy,” she told Mel during the episode. “It is to behave as if my future husband will be proud of how I’m living. If it’s you, if it’s someone else. I mean, it’s a short process, for sure, and maybe you don’t have all the answers about me, about Peg, about yourself. I kinda want my guy to feel like he got struck by lightning and can’t live without me.” She added, “I think you’re great, but I’m not sure I want to free-fall for that long.”
