Kobe Bryant, the legendary NBA player, tragically died in a helicopter crash alongside his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, on January 26, 2020. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy continues to shine brightly in NBA history, and the stories of his remarkable career will always be remembered in the league.

In a previous interview, Tyronn Lue revealed the ruthless move Bryant would pull on every new teammate. Recently, another story came to light when Shaquille O’Neal spoke about his emotional vow for Bryant’s family following their tragic loss.

“Their mom has been through a lot in a couple of years, and that takes a toll, and sometimes you just need somebody to just call to check on you… I don’t know what it feels like to lose a son and a husband, so l’m sure she has a lot of pain that she’s dealing with. I just try to make her smile… I’ll never get to see Kobe again, in real life, forever. And I just should have called. He should have called. We both should have called. But he’s working, I’m working, so it’s ‘I’ll see you when I see you,” O’Neal said.

Shaquille O’Neal disclosed that he checks on Bryant’s mother once a month after Bryant’s death. O’Neal has always been a great supporter of Bryant. During a recent interview, he explained why Kobe’s name deserves to be in the all-time greats.

Brown’s unparalleled legacy and Mamba mentality continue to inspire many players in the league today. Recently, during an appearance on V-103 Atlanta, Jaylen Brown mentioned that Kobe had written an article advocating for better deals with higher percentages for athletes.

“little easter egg in my shoe, the ‘Rover,’ is that the midsole is very similar to a Kobe midsole, and I just wanted to infuse that just because Kobe was infused in a lot of the reasoning why I wanted to even do this,” Brown said.

Brown mentioned that Bryant’s article inspired him to launch @741Performance.
