Caitlin Clark was seen directing players during the timeout and even taking the head coach role during the Indiana Fever vs Minnesota Lynx game on September 9.

Even though Caitlin Clark is not on the court, cameras follow her everywhere. It’s not only her ‘logo threes’ or exquisite passes that make her a great player; along with her skillsets, her passion and love for the game make the former Iowa star the most loved player.

During a game against the Chicago Sky, cameras caught Clark’s hilarious bench gestures and even her trolling the referees, moments that were filmed in later games. Now the player takes head coach role for her team in the final regular-season game.

Caitlin Clark Coaching Her Teammates In Final Regular Season Game

The Indiana Fever franchise, despite all adversity, clinched the playoff spot in the 2025 season during an away game in Washington. The team had a wild celebration in the locker room, soaking in the moment. Next up, in the regular-season finale match, they were up against the league leaders, the Minnesota Lynx.

With pressure off the back, the Fever let the bench players take more responsibility. Similarly, it seemed like the 2024 rookie took the head coach role and was giving instructions to the players during the timeouts.

CC looked a bit unhappy with the play before the timeout and was sharing some knowledge with the players. Incidentally, every player was listening to her advice, which seems to work as the franchise cap off the 2025 season with an 83-72 win over the Lynx.

The playmaker confirmed her unavailability for the season a few days back, but is constantly attending and supporting her team in every game. Clark talked about tough lessons she learnt with the Indiana Fever while she was out injured.

Caitlin Clark’s Coaching In The All-Star Game

This is not the first time the 23-year-old has taken over the head coach role. During the 2025 WNBA All-Star game, Clark was out injured, and HC Sandy Brondello let her guide the players. Learning her team was down by a considerable margin, she drew up a play for Sabrina Ionescu’s four-point shot.

When the player ran the play and Liberty star missed her shot, Clark hilariously booed her teammate as everyone was having fun in during the game. Sonia Citron reacted to the Fever guard’s coaching and mentioned that she loved it cause it suited her gameplay.

“It was good, yeah. I think she’s a great coach. She was just telling us to shoot a lot of threes, which I like. So yeah, great coach,” Citron said after the game.

In the league now, the Indiana Fever will face the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the postseason, and Clark will be ready with her thinking hat to provide input to her team and coaching staff.
