One of the craziest finishes in NBA playoff history was finished by an even crazier confrontation involving Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Trailing by 11 points with just 40 seconds remaining, it looked like Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers would have to travel back to Milwaukee with a 3-2 series lead. But in a stunning chokejob (or a miraculous comeback, depending on how you want to look at it), the Pacers scored eight points in the final 34 seconds to close out the series in five games.
Haliburton scored the game-winning bucket with a second left, and Gary Trent Jr.’s last-second heave fell short. To add more “what in the world did we just see” to this moment, cameras caught Giannis Antetokounmpo getting into a heated confrontation with Tyrese’s father, John Haliburton:

You would expect to see a confrontation of that caliber at a UFC weigh-in event or a boxing match. But nope, it was a near-brawl between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Haliburton’s father after an emotional playoff game.
Multiple flights broke out.

Antetokounmpo did everything in his power to extend the series, recording 30 points, 20 rebounds, 13 assists, two steals and a pair of blocks in the loss. But the short-handed Bucks fell just short of saving their season without fellow superstar Damian Lillard, and the result was a third straight elimination in the opening round of the playoffs.

The Bucks looked like a team on the verge of creating the next dynasty when they won the NBA Championship in the 2020-21 season. Fast forward four years later, and they’ve won just a single playoff series (in 2022) since the championship triumph.
Inept coaching, questionable roster transactions and bad injury luck have made the Bucks an afterthought more than a contender in the Eastern Conference. And now the pressure is on the front office to fix things following another humiliating outing in the postseason.
