Clark and Reese court scene creates tension.

We all know about the tension between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. And now this has again grabbed attention during Team USA’s recent international game.

The scenario happened on Thursday when Team USA beat the Puerto Rico women’s national basketball team 91-48 in a qualifying game for the FIBA Women’s World Cup. Cameras showed Clark walking past Reese during a sideline take.

Clark entered the game late in the second quarter with 4:56 left before halftime. She greeted a few teammates as she stepped onto the court. Reese stood nearby with her hand out, but Clark turned and walked in another direction. The broadcast cameras captured it clearly.

So now, the clip has got new conversations about the rivalry between the two players.

Their rivalry began during the 2023 NCAA Championship Game. Reese celebrated LSU Tigers women’s basketball winning the title by making taunting gestures toward Clark after LSU defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball. Later, both players said their competitiveness stays strictly professional.

Moreover, the issues continued when both entered the WNBA in 2024. Clark now plays guard for the Indiana Fever, while Reese plays forward for the Chicago Sky.

Fans, as usual, came to give their views on the sideline clip once it appeared online. Many viewers questioned whether Clark intentionally ignored Reese.

One fan wrote, “Hella disrespectful and that does look intentional sadly.”

Another viewer focused on Reese’s gesture and said, “It’s how Reese was waiting for her turn, held her hand out in team spirit and Caitlin acted like she was wearing white.”

Others showed caution before judging the moment.

“I can’t see CC leaving her teammate hanging like that. But I admit, it’s not a good look,” another fan said.

Some comments targeted Reese instead.

“Reese has made her entire brand hating Clark,” one user claimed.

Another added, “Reese will not pass the ball to CC. She either tries to play the point guard position herself or she passes it to someone else.”

The players’ performances in the game also became part of the discussion. Caitlin Clark had a tough night. She scored eight points with two assists and three rebounds in 18 minutes. She made two of her six shots.

Angel Reese had a better game. She scored 10 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds. That number set a new US record in a FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying game.

Team USA improved to 2-0 in the tournament.

The team will play with Italy women’s national basketball team on Saturday. The game starts at 5 pm ET and will air on truTV and stream on HBO Max.

Clark and Reese will be on the court together again, and many fans will be watching their next interaction closely.
