AN Irish Love Island legend, who was caught in a wild cheating scandal with a coach from The Voice, is appearing in the new season of The Traitors.

Americans might not be overly familiar with Maura Higgins, the Irish beauty who shot to fame in 2019 on the UK version of Love Island, though has hosted on the US version of the dating show recently.

But Maura is someone everyone needs to know about.

Hilarious, beautiful, witty and fun, Maura has also had her fair share of scandals.

Maura catapulted onto TV screens in 2019 when her bold personality made her a fan favorite on the show.

Her popularity led to her finishing in fourth place with Curtis Pritchard.

She then appearing on Dancing on Ice in 2020 and hosted for The Glow Up Ireland.

Maura’s career went from strength to strength and worked with big brands such as Boohoo and Ann Summers before she launched her own tan range with Bellamianta.

She then further cemented her TV presence by signing up to the popular reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – which is where her wild cheating scandal story began.

While appearing on the reality show, which sees a slew of British stars live in the Australian jungle for several weeks, Maura met The Voice judge Danny Jones from the band McFly.

The Love Island star and the boyband hunk seemed to get on well in the jungle, with nothing more thought of their bond until a few months later.

Mere months after Danny was crowned as the winner of the show, he and Maura attended the Brit Awards in London and then an after party.

At the after party, the two co-stars locked lips and shared what was described by Danny as a “drunken kiss”, which was exclusively revealed by The Sun.

The two stars were spotted having a brief smooch at a Brit Awards after party.

Soon after, Danny issued a public apology to his wife Georgia and his family, saying: “I love them so much.”

In an Instagram Stories post, he wrote: “Sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.

“I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation.

“I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.”

Meanwhile, Maura didn’t issue a direct statement about the “drunken kiss”.

She did however show regret for the smooch by liking cryptic posts on social media.

Last year, after the scandal, she liked a post about ‘slipping up & making mistakes’ saying ‘nobody’s perfect’.
